When you breed your Petz, you have to have a male and a female out. They also have fall in love, before they breed. You can encourage your Petz to fall in love by setting a romantic mood for them. If you have earned these toys in the games, you can spray them with the perfume, play love songs from the music box, or use the love potion (which is most effective), and let them get to know each other. Once they are in love, you should know because they will be sad when the other one leaves. They will wilt, then look pitiful. Another sure sign that they are in love is if they are sleeping together, looking at each other dreamily, or they "kiss" each other. When they are expecting a puppy or a kitten, a large heart appears on the screen. Once Petz breed with each other, they will love each other forever.

Here are several things that you can do to encourage two Petz to fall in love:
Bring them out to play with one another frequently. Petz that play together often are more likely to fall in love.
Don’t give up if it’s not love at first sight for your Petz and they seem uninterested in each other. If you reward your Petz with Treatz and attention every time they play together, they will learn to fall in love. However, Petz that actually fight with one another probably won’t make a love connection and you might be better off introducing them to one of your other Petz.
If your Petz seem more interested in their Toyz than in each other, you might have to take away their Toyz to get them to notice each other. To help your Petz get to know each other, you may have to create a play space that is free of distractions, by removing all the Toyz. You can create a 'breeding room' with the playscene editor (like I did) to help have a distraction-free area for your Petz. Make sure to not put any ledges they can jump on, or any 'gazing spots' ... this may seem like a boring room for your Petz, but if you want to effectively breed it will work better.
The game has several accessories designed to put your Petz in a romantic mood -- but you have to earn them in the games first! Try some of the enticing perfume, the yummy Heart Treatz, or bring out the Music Box and play a love song, also there is the Love Potion which works the best. You may need to use all of these items at the same time if your Petz are not naturally inclined to fall in love with one another.
You may have to wait for your Petz to get a little older. When your Petz are young, they are too busy learning about the world and playing with Toyz to think about love. When your Petz are old enough, they will begin to show special interest in potential Petz mates. (check the Petz profile for an Adult status by clicking on the blue or pink dog or cat icon next to their name)
Note: Even if you have the complete Petz package (Catz and Dogz) installed on your computer, Catz and Dogz will never fall in love with each other, and they will never produce offspring, no matter how much encouragement you give them. Only two Petz of the same species (two Catz or two Dogz) and of different genders (one male and one female) will fall in love and produce offspring.
